Values and agendas for a more optimistic world

Introduction

In the 21st century we are acutely aware of the need to address social apathy, disjunction, fear and mistrust. In addressing such social issues, we have arranged the Citizenship and Diversity section of our Reading Room under a number of topics that span from governance and general theories of civil society, to values and individual motivations. We hope that our Reading Room will provide users with challenging theories and methodologies on citizenship and diversity, with which to address the link between personal, social and cultural development.

The Centre for Creative Communities believes that cultural participation and creativity can play a pivotal role in fostering active citizenship and in addressing social inequality and exclusion.
