CCC's Work
Mapping Room Study, conducted by the Centre for Creative Communities in 2002-04, looking at collaborative practices among culture, education, community development, youth, health and social services in Europe. The initiative aimed to describe and analyse the complex picture emerging, as reflected in a shift towards policies that combine social and cultural objectives, and stimulate new forms of multidisciplinary practice. Emerging Paradigms in Organizational Approaches to Community Building: (PDF: 43 KB)This report commissioned by the Rockefeller Foundation (USA) as part of its Active Public Space: The Role of Arts and Culture in Community Development Initiative, argues that for the past decade, activists, thinkers, and philanthropists in America’s community development and cultural fields have struggled to find ways to achieve broader social and civic objectives through their work whilst researchers have been trying to find ways to assess the impacts that organizations in these respective fields have on their communities.
